Who We Are

Flipsalot LLC (“Flipsalot”, “we”, “us”) operates flipsalot.com and related services (the “Service”). This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information. Questions? Contact info@flipsalot.com.

Scope

This policy covers personal information we process when you use the Service, create an account, subscribe, contact support, or interact with our website. It also describes how we handle publicly available marketplace data we summarize into analytics.

Information We Collect

  • Account & Contact: We require only an email address to create an account. We also store verification status and basic settings. Passwords, if set, are stored only as salted, one-way hashes.
  • Product Data: saved searches, search history entries, sales log entries, preferences, and derived metrics tied to your account.
  • Payment & Subscription (via Stripe): All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not collect or store full card numbers. We receive limited billing metadata from Stripe—e.g., Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, price/plan ID, subscription status, trial start/end, invoice summaries, and (sometimes) card brand/last4. We use this data to operate billing features, show subscription status, and enforce our one-trial-per-person policy.
  • Usage & Device: IP address, device/browser info, pages viewed, actions (e.g., searches), timestamps, and similar diagnostic logs.
  • Support & Communications: emails you send us and your communication preferences.

Public Marketplace Data

We process public marketplace facts (e.g., listing titles, prices, shipping amounts, dates, conditions, listing IDs, and image URLs) to compute analytics such as price bands and sell-through rates. We store minimal identifiers and derived metrics. When we display images, they are typically requested from the original source; we don’t claim ownership of third-party listing content and are not affiliated with eBay Inc.

Marketplace results may vary depending on region, time of query, or eBay’s platform changes. Data is provided on a best-effort basis and may not exactly match what you see if you perform your own search directly on eBay.

If you’re a rights holder and want an image or listing reference removed, email info@flipsalot.com with details.

How We Use Information

  • Provide the Service: account creation, authentication, saved searches, nightly refreshes, quotas, and user features you request.
  • Improve & Secure: analytics, monitoring, troubleshooting, preventing abuse/fraud, and developing new tools.
  • Communicate: transactional emails (verification, receipts, notices). With consent or where allowed, product updates and tips.
  • Billing: manage subscriptions, trials, and invoices via Stripe.
  • Eligibility & Anti-abuse: enforce our one-trial-per-person policy and other eligibility rules. To do this, we retain minimal identifiers (e.g., your email and Stripe customer/subscription IDs) even if you cancel.
  • Legal: comply with law, enforce our Terms, and protect rights and safety.

Trial Eligibility & Anti-Abuse

Free trials are limited to one per person/account. We use limited identifiers—such as your email and Stripe customer/subscription IDs—to detect and prevent repeat trials or fraudulent sign-ups. Creating multiple accounts or otherwise attempting to obtain repeat trials is prohibited.

Legal Bases (EEA/UK only)

Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we process personal data under these bases: performance of a contract (providing the Service), legitimate interests (improving and securing the Service), consent (where required, e.g., certain cookies/marketing), and legal obligations.

Sharing & Service Providers

We do not sell personal information. We share it with processors who help us operate Flipsalot, under contracts limiting their use to our instructions:

  • Stripe (payments and subscription billing)
  • Hosting/infrastructure (e.g., cloud, CDN, databases, security monitoring)
  • Email/support tools (transactional email, support inbox)
  • Analytics and error monitoring

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the Service.

International Transfers

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Retention

We retain account data while your subscription is active. If you cancel or close your account, we typically delete or anonymize your user-generated content (e.g., saved searches and sales logs) within a reasonable period.

Minimal identifiers retained: To enforce our one-trial-per-person policy, prevent abuse, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, we retain a limited set of identifiers—such as your email address and Stripe customer/subscription IDs—along with necessary billing records. We keep this data only as long as needed for those purposes and applicable legal requirements.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring). Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel who need it to operate or support the Service. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise rights, email info@flipsalot.com. We may need to verify your request.

California Privacy (CPRA)

California residents have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt-out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. Flipsalot does not sell personal information. You may exercise rights by contacting info@flipsalot.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Cookies & Tracking

We use necessary cookies to run the site and may use analytics cookies to understand usage and improve features. We do not use cookies or trackers for advertising or cross-site profiling. Where required, we request consent and provide cookie controls. You can use browser settings to block cookies; some features may not work without them.

Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). If you believe a child provided personal data, contact us so we can remove it.

Third-Party Links

We may link to third-party sites (e.g., marketplace listings). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will update the “Last updated” date and, when appropriate, notify you via the Service or email.
